I am a Noongar Marmun person and lived all my life on
the swan coastal plains between the two great rivers of the
Perth, Swan and Murray rivers. Living in bush camps making
our fires and collecting water from a swamp soak taught me
to respect the land and the Noongar way of life. Being forced
from our lands to live in the outer fringes of towns, we formed
our own tin community at Chalk Hill Medina. I attended Baldivis
Country school, and later Medina Primary and on to Kwinana
Senior high school and Perth College. After leaving the schooling
years I was accepted into the State Public Service which I
currently work for, and have done for some 30+ years. I have
given many presentations on Aboriginal Noongar culture and
played football and basketball for many clubs, and put together
Aboriginal sporting carnivals. I would like to represent the
Aboriginal people to the best of my ability.
